Installation
Pin fve, create a consumer-owned Components project, and add only the source your application uses.
On this page
Pin the repository-local tool
dotnet new tool-manifest
dotnet tool install FSharp.ViewEngine.Cli
dotnet tool restoreA local tool manifest is the reproducible default. Global installation remains available with dotnet tool install --global FSharp.ViewEngine.Cli.
Initialize and add components
dotnet fve init src/Acme.Components/Acme.Components.fsproj --namespace Acme.Components
dotnet fve add button text-field --config src/Acme.Components/fve.json
dotnet add src/Acme.Web/Acme.Web.fsproj reference src/Acme.Components/Acme.Components.fsprojThe generated project references FSharp.ViewEngine normally. fve copies the selected canonical source plus required transitive dependencies in deterministic F# compile order; your repository owns and commits the result.
Scan the owned F# source
@import "tailwindcss" source(none);
@source "./src/Acme.Components/Components/**/*.fs";
@source "./src/Acme.Web/**/*.fs";Import Tailwind, then point source detection directly at the copied F# and application source. No NuGet-cache path or copied package source manifest is required.
See Tailwind CSS setup for the exact source-detection contract.
Use the selected namespace
open FSharp.ViewEngine
open Acme.Components.Primitives
open Acme.Components.Application
open type HtmlComponents remain ordinary typed F# values and functions. Edit the copied source when product needs differ from the canonical implementation.
